About the club

The Alano Society is a non-profit corporation separate from the organization of Alcoholics Anonymous. It exists to administer and support the building and property located at 2218 1st Ave. The Alano Society derives much of its income through squad rents and fundraising, and perhaps most importantly, dues paying members. Often times there is confusion to newcomers who hear the AA tradition "The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking." It's true!! To be an AA member you need only have a desire to stop drinking. No one who comes to our club with an earnest desire to stop drinking and wishes to attend a meeting is turned away. The difference is when you become an Alano Society member, you help support the club and meeting groups that exist within.
